TOWN ELECTION
Town Election Information
The 2023 Kensington Town Election will be held on Monday, June 5, 2023, 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm. The terms of Council Members Darin Bartram and Conor Crimmins are set to expire June 30, 2023.
The filing deadline for candidates is Monday, May 8, 2023, at 4:00pm.
VOTER REGISTRATION
If you are not registered to vote with the Montgomery County Board of Elections, please click here.
County Voter Registration requires a Town address to vote in a Town Election. To be eligible to vote in the June 5, 2023 Town election, you must register with the Montgomery County Board of Elections by Monday, May 1, 2023.
To register to vote in Town Elections only (Town Voter Registration Closes Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 4:00 pm), you must complete the Supplemental Registration Form (Required Identification) in-person at Town Hall during regular office hours: Monday – Friday; 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, by Tuesday, May 30. If you are not able to complete the Supplemental Registration Form in-person by May 30, 2023, or have additional questions, please contact Susan Engels: Susan.engels@tok.md.gov or (301) 949-2424.
ABSENTEE BALLOT
If you prefer to vote by Absentee Ballot, please fill out the Absentee Ballot Application and return it to the Town Offices (3710 Mitchell Street). You must fill out the Absentee Ballot Application in order to receive an Absentee Ballot.
Absentee ballots will be available for residents who requested them by Wednesday, May 17.
VOTER QUALIFICATIONS
Every person who is a citizen of the U.S., or who is not a citizen of the U.S. but is a permanent resident or is authorized to work in the U.S., at least 18 years of age, has resided within the corporate limits of the Town for thirty days, and is registered in accordance with the provisions of the Town Charter shall be a qualified voter of the Town and shall be entitled to vote at any or all Town elections.
