2025 Town Election Information

The 2025 Town Election was held on Monday, June 2, 2025, 6:00pm – 9:00pm, at Kensington Town Hall.

In accordance with Article VII, Section 710, of the Town Charter, being that there are only two nominees (Conor Crimmins and Stuart Sparker) for the two Town Council positions, both candidates will be declared Elected by the Board of Supervisors of Elections at the June 3, 2025, Town Council meeting.

Although Mr. Crimmins and Mr. Sparker will not be on the ballot, the Town does have a Referendum (Question A) on the ballot that will decide if the Town may move forward with the sale of real property located at 3420 Plyers Mill Road (Joseph’s Park) following the adoption of Ordinance No. O-01-2025.

(Question A): An Ordinance was adopted by the Mayor and Town Council of Kensington authorizing the sale of the property located at 3420 Plyers Mill Road, also known as Joseph’s Park, as no longer needed for a public purpose. The property is to be sold for a use that is consistent with current zoning, which is for a single-family home. The funds resulting from the sale must be used to support a public purpose,  with the expectation that they will be used to acquire other real property that will include greenspace for public enjoyment, growth of tree canopy and stormwater management, and will offset by at least 1:1 the amount of land that comprises the property located at 3420 Plyers Mill Road.

If you are unable, or do not wish to vote in person on June 2, we ask that you please complete the Absentee Ballot application included within this letter, and return the application by either email to Susan.Engels@tok.md.gov; by mail to the Town of Kensington, 3710 Mitchell Street, Kensington, MD 20895; or you may deliver your Absentee Ballot application directly to Town Hall during regular business hours, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday – Friday.
