The next Town Election will be on Monday, June 2, 2014 at Town Hall (3710 Mitchell Street). Voting hours are between 6:00 pm and 9:00 pm.
VOTER REGISTRATION
If you are not registered to vote with the Montgomery County Board of Elections, please fill out the Registration Form and return it to Town Hall. If you are not sure if you are registered to vote with the Montgomery County Board of Elections, please contact Susan Engels at 301-949-2424.
If you will require an Absentee Ballot, please fill out the following form and return it to Town Hall (3710 Mitchell Street): Absentee Ballot Application. You must fill out this form in order to receive an Absentee Ballot. Absentee Ballots will be available once the nominating period has ended (Monday, May 12, 2014).
Registration by a Town resident with the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors of Elections shall be deemed registration for Town elections. Please note: you must be registered by the County with a Town address. Town citizens, who do not register to vote with the County, may register with the Town at Town Hall, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Town office may be contacted during regular office hours for an absentee ballot if you cannot be present at an upcoming Town election.
Every person who is a citizen of the U.S., at least 18 years of age, has resided within the corporate limits of the Town for thirty days, and is registered in accordance with the provisions of the Town Charter shall be a qualified voter of the Town and shall be entitled to vote at any or all Town elections.
The term of Mayor Peter Fosselman, along with Council Members Sean McMullen and Tracey Furman are set to expire this June (2014). All have the option of running for re-election.
Persons may be nominated for elective office in the Town by filing a certificate of nomination at Town Hall by 4:00 p.m. on or before the second Monday in May – Monday, May 12, 2014.
