Just a reminder that our canine friends are to be on a leash at all times while on public property (sidewalks, parks) and voice command is no longer a legal method of restraint. Staff is handing out citations to those violating the regulations.

Parking permits and restrictions are being enforced all around Town. Please abide by the signage and purchase a permit in the designated areas if you have not done so already, and let the Town Staff know if you have any ongoing issues. Code Enforcement Officer Jim Snow may be reached at 301-949-2424.

The State’s improvement project to the Connecticut Avenue median is moving along as scheduled with a projected completion date of fall 2015. This project will include new fencing along the CSX bridge.

The County Parks Department continues to look at potential stream restoration projects along Silver Creek, to include additional plantings and the removal of non-native invasive plants.

I will be hosting a Coffee with the Mayor on Saturday, February 21st; 9:30 am. This is an informal opportunity, with no agenda, to chat about issues or just hear the latest updates on Kensington, the County and the State. Attendance in the past has been as few as two people and as many as twenty-five.

The new playground equipment at St. Paul Park has been ordered. Our contractor hopes to have it installed by early March.

It is my goal to maintain an open and accessible schedule to respond to the concerns and needs of the community. Please feel free to contact me at Mayor.Fosselman@tok.md.gov, or the Town Hall at 301-949-2424, anytime.
