The Town celebrates Juneteenth, an annual holiday recognizing the date when some of the last enslaved people in the Confederacy were notified of their freedom following the Civil War.
The bike parade is open to all kids, and those young at heart that wish to decorate their bike, scooter, wagon or stroller. The parade follows a Kensington Volunteer Fire Department truck through the streets of Kensington. Sponsored by Mark Hudson of McEnearney Associate Realtors.

For more than a decade, MAA has organized one of the largest local art shows in the DC area — the annual Paint the Town Labor Day Show. The annual show takes place over three-day holiday weekend at the historic Kensington Armory, with thousands of visitors passing through the doors to see and purchase art.
