Kensington Historical Society Meeting

Meet at 7:00 at Town Hall’s lower level for Coffee, Cookies & Conversation & 7:30 Meeting.

October’s speaker is Montgomery Parks Senior Historian Jamie F. Kuhns, author of “Sharp Flashes of Lightning Come from Black Clouds:  The Life of Josiah Henson.”

The subject of the book, Josiah Henson, is known as a preacher, freedom-seeker and Underground Railroad conductor, an author, and abolitionist. Rev. Henson was enslaved on a plantation just off Old Georgetown Road at what is now the Josiah Henson Park.  He was baptized near KenGar.
