Join us for the First Annual KTown Chess Festival!  

This free event will bring young chess enthusiasts together to compete, make new friends, and celebrate the game of chess. 

Up to 80 kids can register for the tournament beginning in September (registration information to be announced).  We will have food trucks, ice cream, chess related activities, and more, including life-sized chess for the little ones!

When:  Saturday October 5th, 2024  12:30 to 3:30pm

Where: Flinn Fountain Park, Kensington Parkway

Who:  Kids ages 7 to 14 who know the real rules of chess and understand tournament etiquette are welcome to participate in the tournament.  Families and community are welcome to the festival!

Chess Tournaments promote critical thinking and strategic planning skills from an early age, foster concentration and patience, and encourage healthy competition.  Overall, participating in a chess tournament can be a rewarding and enriching experience that contributes positively to a child’s development.  And it’s fun!
