Dear Friends of Bonjour Books,
Join us for an in-person event with French author Patrick Chamoiseau, Prix Goncourt 1992.
This event is organized by Alliance Française of Washington DC and Bonjour Books, in partnership with Villa Albertine. It will be hosted by our neighboring shop on Antique Row, Goldsborough Glynn Classic Furnishings & Finds, just a few steps from Bonjour Books.
About the event
Charly Vestraet, professor at American University, will be in conversation with Patrick Chamoiseau. Together, they will review some of the themes explored in his books (childhood, the environment, music, the Creole storyteller, etc.), leading up to his latest work, Le vent du Nord. Chamoiseau will also be publishing a new text, Que peut littérature quand elle ne peut? scheduled for release in January 2025, on which the discussion will conclude.
Books can be ordered here. A selection of the author’s books will be for sale on site.
Bonjour Books will remain open until 6:25pm the evening of the event. Please stop by the bookstore before doors open at Goldsborough Glynn at 6:30pm!
