For its 30th free Noyes StoryWalk®, The Noyes Children’s Library Foundation presents Penguins Ready to Go, Go, Go!, by Deborah Lee Rose. This newly published book will entrance families as they discover how these birds that “never, ever fly” have amazing adaptations to waddle, sled, huddle, dive, swim, leap, and snuggle their chicks to survive in the frozen world of Antarctica.
Illustrated with spectacular photos from international scientists and explorers, many being published for the first time in a children’s book, the book also includes QR codes linked to live-action Emperor penguin videos. Author Deborah Lee Rose shows how scientists study these largest penguins with the newest technology, such as robotic rovers. The book also dives into the impact of climate change and human activity on this much-loved but threatened species, and what people can do to protect them and their polar ecosystem. Families can view and download a PDF of extra resources provided by Rose HERE!
