25th Noyes StoryWalk® is a Groovy Train Trip!
For its 25th free Noyes StoryWalk®, The Noyes Children’s Library Foundation presents Pete the Cat’s Train Trip, by James Dean and Kimberly Dean. In this “My First I Can Read Book,” the ever-popular Pete the Cat takes a train trip to visit his grandmother, with a lot of fun along the way.
Families can enjoy this perfect fall story on posted signs at Clum-Kennedy Park in Kensington, MD from Friday, November 17 to Sunday, December 17, 2023. Clum-Kennedy Park is located at 10280 Frederick Ave. in historic Kensington, MD.
The Noyes Children’s Library Foundation – supporting the 130-year-old library that dates from Kensington’s founding – is celebrating its milestone 25th StoryWalk® by teaming up with one of the newest Kensington institutions: BabyCat Brewery, located along the railroad tracks across the street from Clum-Kennedy Park, at 10241 Kensington Parkway. The Foundation and BabyCat will host Books & Brews @ BabyCat on Sunday, December 3 from 3pm-5pm to celebrate the StoryWalk® and raise funds for the Foundation’s ongoing early literacy outreach.
Bring the whole family to enjoy the comfortable atmosphere of this community gathering place, while the Foundation provides crafts and activities for kids and Noyes merchandise for sale, and PaperPie Books offers a children’s book sale in time for holiday purchases! BabyCat and PaperPie Books will donate a portion of the day’s proceeds to the Noyes Children’s Library Foundation. The event’s raindate will be December 10, 2023.
Families are encouraged to check out the Foundation’s Events page for crafts related to the Pete the Cat’s Train Trip StoryWalk®, and to share a selfie while at the StoryWalk® or a photo of a completed craft on the Foundation’s Facebook page (facebook.com/MakeMoreNoyes). Families can also post to Facebook or Instagram and tag the Foundation @makemorenoyes.
