For more than 40 years, the Parent Encouragement Program (PEP) has been a trusted resource in our community, helping parents raise confident, capable, and resilient kids. Since 1982, PEP has supported over 70,000 families across the DC region with practical tools, encouragement, and a whole lot of heart.
Today, our PEP Family Resiliency Program is offered free of charge to parents and caregivers—in English, Spanish, and Amharic—through schools and community groups. These 8-week sessions, led by trained facilitators from the same communities they serve, provide relatable, culturally aware parenting support that’s especially meaningful for families living in areas of high poverty.
