The Town maintains seven Town parks, and is home to three County parks, designed for the enjoyment of all. All parks within the Town of Kensington are closed from dusk until dawn, daily.

Town parks may be reserved by contacting the Town Office. Below is a listing of the parks within the Town and the available amenities in each:

Town Parks

Clum-Kennedy Park

A quiet meditative garden with a meandering brick pathway, grape arbor and benches.
Located at 10280/10290 Frederick Avenue.

Ernest Memorial Park

A small memorial park dedicated to WWII fallen soldiers. There are no public amenities.
Located at 10301 Connecticut Avenue.

Flinn Park

An open park with a cascading fountain, benches, picnic tables and a commemorative brick walkway.
Located at 10310 Kensington Parkway.

Howard Avenue Park

A small urban park located in front of the Prevention of Blindness Thrift Shop.  It has fixed benches, a water fountain, pergola and raised flower beds. The Kensington Historical Society holds their Summer Concert series here every Saturday between June and October.
Located at 3716 Howard Avenue.

Joseph Park

A small, grassy lot with mature trees.
Located at 3420 Plyers Mill Road.

Reinhardt Park

A tot lot designed for families with small children.  There are swings, slides and other play equipment, along with benches, and picnic tables.
Located at 10400 Armory Avenue.

St. Paul Park

A large neighborhood park with a tot lot, basketball court, youth ball field, walking track, benches, grills, 16’x20′ Picnic Pavilion (please contact Town staff to rent), picnic tables, and a drinking fountain.

County Parks

Frederick Avenue Park

A 1.9 acre park featuring a playground, picnic table, and benches.
Located at 10221 Frederick Avenue.

Kensington Cabin Park

Ball Field, Basketball Court, Playground, Tennis Court, Benches, Walking Path, Picnic Tables, Cabin Rental Facility.
Located at 10000 Kensington Parkway.

Kensington Skate Park

Located at 10400 Detrick Avenue (behind Housing Opportunities Commission building). Field and playground equipment are available.

Warner Circle Park

Waking Path, Warner Reading Garden (coming soon)
Located at 10231 Carroll Place.

Pets are required to be leashed at all times when visiting both Town and County Parks. Pet waste is the responsibility of the pet owner/handler. Pet waste must be picked up and disposed of either in trash or pet waste containers provided within the park or removed from the park and properly disposed of by the pet handler. Visitors to Town and County parks are responsible for adhering to any posted rules or regulations within the parks.
